Adam and Eve: The Creation

I grew up going to church and vaguely remember learning some of these stories, so it is nice to re-read them and get a refresher. God looked over the land that was unfinished and wanted something that represented his likeness to have dominion over it, so he created male and female. He told them that everything they saw was made for them and on the seventh day when everything was finished, he rested.

He created Adam and from the dust of the ground and put them in a garden he made for them in Eden. He planted many trees and formed four rivers to which he gave names. He said to the man and woman that the can eat freely from all trees except for one, the tree of the knowledge of the good and evil, that they would surely die if they ate from it. God created animals so that Adam could name them and they could keep them company. God caused Adam to sleep and God took one of his ribs and made a woman named Eve.

The Fall

A serpent began talking to Eve and talked Eve into eating from the forbidden tree. The fruit was good and so Adam also ate from it. God got angry and stripped them of their clothes and asked them why they had done this. They insisted that they were tricked by the serpent and that they would never do it again. God gave both of them demands and clothed them once again.
