Coyote Steals a Man's Wife:

In this story, there was a man who was on a rock when it began to ascend towards the sky. He was the only one on this rock and was left all alone. The man's wife was not on the rock and the coyote took the wife and moved away with her. One day the man finally got off the rock and started to try and find his wife. He came upon a trail where he saw a campfire how long ago they had left. The campfire told him they left a long time ago.

He found another place where they had camped and asked the pestle there how long ago they had left this place and the pestle said they left long, long ago. He went on some more and found another campsite where they had been and asked the muller there how long ago they had left and he said not very long ago. He came across yet another campsite and asked the stick there how long ago they had left and the stick said not long at all. Finally, the man found the tipi where his wife and the coyote were. The coyote was gone because he was hunting and when he returned he found the man with his wife. The man began making the coyote eat stones, the coyote went along with it because he was intimidated but did not think anything bad would happen. However, sometime later the coyote fell dead to the ground. The man and his wife began moving towards the east.
